Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DNER) Coral Reef Conservation and Management Program has been an ongoing effort to conserve, manage, and protect coral reef ecosystems.

The Program has monitored Puerto Rico’s coral reefs since 1999, in order to collect important data that can be used to support management of coral reefs and associated ecosystems. The 2017-18 coral reef monitoring event of the Puerto Rico Coral Reef Monitoring Program (PRCRMP) included 21 reef stations, with two new baseline characterizations, 15 first monitoring surveys and four recurring monitoring surveys.
