The Global Socioeconomic Monitoring Initiative for Coastal Management (SocMon), which is part of the GCRMN and works through regional and local partners to facilitate community-based socioeconomic monitoring, has released a new animated video to explain what it is, why it matters, and how it works.
The video provides a reminder of why collecting socioeconomic data is key to answering management questions and informing policy decisions, to improve both human well-being and ecological health.
