The Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network (GCRMN), an operational network of the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI), is pleased to announce the support of ICRI member, the MSC Foundation, for the production of the Status of Coral Reefs of the World: 2025 report.

This contribution from the MSC Foundation will aid in the production of the next global assessment of coral reef health—an essential resource for governments, policymakers, scientists, and conservation practitioners. The report will build on previous editions, expanding the evidence base with updated trends and data from more than four decades of coral reef monitoring.

The 2025 Global Report will represent the most comprehensive synthesis of coral reef status to date and will provide the latest scientific insight to support action at global, regional, and national levels. It is an important tool for informing the implementation of global targets including the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The MSC Foundation’s support reflects its strong commitment to ocean health and coral reef conservation, building on the Foundation’s established Super Coral Reefs Programme, seeking to restore depleted corals to halt, and reverse, their decline.

The GCRMN looks forward to advancing this collaborative partnership #ForCoral.
